Dive right into the heart, humor and characters of Finding Nemo with this musical version of the award-winning Disney•Pixar film.
In this 40-minute show, original songs bring the big, blue world to life, along with extraordinary puppets and vibrant sets that plunge you right into the depths of Nemo’s fin-tastic terrain. Performed on a stage flanked by big bubbles, the musical numbers shimmer with wondrous underwater effects created with innovative lighting, dynamic props and animated projections.
The show reels you in with the heart-tugging tale of the overprotective clownfish father searching for his lost son.
This big fish story tracks the harrowing adventures of Marlin, his newfound friend Dory and son Nemo in the Great Barrier Reef and beyond. Watch for a special appearance of the turtle Crush with a puppet as big as a car, and the towering pelican Nigel, whose head nearly reaches the roof. The story sails its course and ends with the song “In the Big, Blue World.”
The new musical numbers take their cue from lines from the movie, including "Just Keep Swimming" and "Go with the Flow." There are 14 original songs composed by Robert Lopez, who won the Tony Award for Avenue Q, and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who wrote the a cappella musical Along the Way. This is the first time that Disney has taken a non-musical animated feature and transformed it into an original musical production.
The puppeteers are cleverly camouflaged, yet they deliver outstanding performances in concert with their colorful cohorts. The characters come to life through an array of puppetry styles, including rod, bunraku and shadow.
