Walt Disney World Resort offers a variety of services to help Guests with hearing disabilities enjoy the Resort.

Guests under 18 years of age must have parent or guardian permission to call.
Assistive Listening and Handheld Captioning
Disney’s Handheld Device offers both Assistive Listening and Handheld Captioning services. The Assistive Listening system is recommended for Guests with mild to moderate hearing loss and amplifies sound through headphones or an induction loop at specific theme park attractions. The Handheld Captioning system uses a wireless handheld receiver to display text in locations where fixed captioning systems are impractical, such as moving attractions.
Disney’s Handheld Devices are available from Guest Relations at all 4 theme parks on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a fully-refundable $25 daily deposit for use.
At select theater-style attractions, Reflective Captioning projects text on an acrylic glass panel in front of the Guest. To use this system, please contact a Cast Member at the location or attraction.
Caption-ready monitors are designated by a "CC." Please see a Cast Member at the attraction for assistance.
Video Captioning can also be activated using Disney's Handheld Devices, which are available from Guest Relations on a first-come, first-served basis and require a $25 fully-refundable deposit.
Sign Language Interpretation
Walt Disney World Resort provides Sign Language interpretation for our Guests at specific live theme park shows on a rotating basis as follows:
A schedule of events that will be interpreted is available from Guest Relations. You can also call Walt Disney World Resort Information to confirm the performance schedule:
Guests should request confirmation of our interpreted performance schedule a minimum of 7 days in advance. (Guests under 18 years of age must have parent or guardian permission to call.)

Text Typewriter (TTY) Telephones
Pay phones marked with a Text Typewriter (TTY) symbol are equipped with amplified handsets and are widely available throughout Walt Disney World Resort. Exact locations are listed in the “Guide for Guests with Disabilities,” available at Guest Relations.
Guest Assistance Packets containing dialogue, flashlights, pens and paper are available at or near the performance areas or entrances for most shows and attractions. Please inquire about availability prior to experiencing an attraction or show.
A pad of paper and pens/pencils are readily accessible at each location for Cast Members to use, if necessary, to communicate with Guests with needs. Cast Members with abilities in Sign Language can be identified with the appropriate language pin.
Trained service animals are welcome in most locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort; however, all service animals must remain on a leash or in a harness at all times. Please note: Cast Members are not permitted to handle service animals.
