How does Direct-to-Room Service work?
Follow these simple steps to enjoy Direct-to-Room service at your Disney Resort hotel:
Who is eligible to use the Direct-to-Room service?
If you are a Disney Resort hotel Guest, you are able to take advantage of the Direct-to-Room service once you have used the Online Check-In service. To enter your room, you also need to have a MagicBand handy, or a device that can use the Unlock Door feature on the My Disney Experience app. Direct-to-Room is available at all Disney Resort hotels.
What if I arrive before my room is ready?
Enable notifications when using the Online Check-In service so we can notify you when your room is ready. Also, be sure to install the My Disney Experience app to see real-time room ready updates.
Check-in time for all Disney Resort hotels is 3:00 PM, except for Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts, which have a check-in time of 4:00 PM.
Prior to checking into your room, you can use your active MagicBand or the Unlock Door feature on the My Disney Experience app to gain access to certain areas in your Disney Resort hotel, such as the pool.
If you have a Disney dining plan, you can start using it before your room is available and enjoy a refillable drink mug, tasty snack or a delicious meal at any of the Quick-Service locations in the hotel.
MagicBands and Key to the World Cards
Starting in 2021, we plan to unveil an innovative new offering as part of the My Disney Experience app that will bring features of a MagicBand to your smart devices. With this new offering, MagicBands will no longer be provided on a complimentary basis with new Disney Resort hotel reservations for Guests with arrivals beginning Jan. 1, 2021 and beyond. Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels with an arrival date through December 31, 2020 will receive complimentary MagicBands. If you are not staying at a Disney Resort hotel through December 31, 2020 and are not a Passholder, you will receive a card when you purchase tickets for park admission.
In addition to using the active MagicBands and Key to the World Cards to unlock doors at your Disney Resort hotel, you can use a MagicBand or card for the following, if applicable:
If you used the My Disney Experience app to enter your room, you can still pick up your complimentary MagicBand or room key at the Front Desk of your Disney Resort hotel.
Can Guests with Disabilities use the Direct-to-Room Service?
Yes, Guests with Disabilities can go directly to their room. The Front Desk and Cast Members are also available to help with Guest requests.

What If I Am Unable to Complete the Steps for the Direct-to-Room Service?
Cast Members are happy to assist with your arrival. Please see a Cast Member in the lobby entrance area or at the Front Desk.
Who do I contact for help unlocking a door?
If you experience difficulties unlocking a door, get help from a Cast Member by tapping “Call Resort Hotel” on the Resort Hotel screen of the My Disney Experience app.
Can I visit the Front Desk if I used the Direct-to-Room service?
Of course! Front Desk Cast Members are delighted to assist you with questions about your stay. Visit the Front Desk or tap “Front Desk” on your Disney Resort hotel room phone for personal assistance 24 hours a day.
Even as the Disney Cast Member guides you around our site, they will be unable to access or view any files or information on your device or anything you type.
To stop the session, click the X in the screen-sharing window at any time. You can remain on the phone with the Cast Member.
