How do I use my MagicBand+?

A:

For many features and services, all you need to do is hold your MagicBand+ against a touch point. It’s that easy!

Use it to enter the parks (with valid admission and a park reservation), unlock your Disney Resort hotel room, check in at virtual queue and Lightning Lane entrances and charge food and merchandise purchases to the payment card on file, at your Disney Resort hotel during your stay. MagicBand+ has all of the same features as the original MagicBand. It also has:

Use your MagicBand+ to:

  • Enter the parks (with valid theme park admission and theme park reservation, if applicable)
  • Unlock your Disney Resort hotel room
  • Check in at virtual queue and Lightning Lane entrances
  • Charge food and merchandise purchases to the payment card on file at your Disney Resort hotel during your stay

Your MagicBand+ has all of the same features as the original MagicBand. MagicBand+ also features:

  • Haptic vibrations that let you feel the magic with light pulses that bring experiences to life
  • Customizable light patterns (just double tap the center of the band)
  • Gesture recognition for interactivity at certain locations
  • A rechargeable battery
  • Experiences exclusive to MagicBand+ such as Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters, Disney Fab 50 Quest and more

In addition to holding your MagicBand+, MagicBand to a touch point, you will be required to enter a unique PIN code when making purchases.

If you lose a MagicBand+ or MagicBand, you can deactivate it on My Disney Experience, and it will no longer be linked to your tickets and other entitlements.

MagicBands and MagicBand+ products use Radio Frequency (RF) technology and can be read by short and long-range readers located at Walt Disney World Resort. If you prefer to use a Key to the World Card—which cannot be detected by long-range readers—you can request a card at your Disney Resort hotel.

Please note: Any Guest who wishes to use their MagicBand or MagicBand+ to purchase an alcoholic beverage at Walt Disney World Resort must also present a valid form of identification.
