Disney Resort Hotels – Frequently Asked Questions

Q:

How can I create and edit a profile for another person so I can make plans for them?

A:

Follow these steps to create a My Disney Experience profile for someone else:

  1. Log in to your MyDisney account and visit your profile.
  2. Select Family & Friends list. and then “Add a Guest.”
  3. Select “Create a New Guest.”
  4. Choose the correct age range for the Guest. If the Guest is under 13 years of age, fill out the form that appears on the screen. If the Guest is 13 years of age or older, you will see a question asking, “Will this Guest sign in and plan on their own?” If you are making the plans for this Guest, please select “Not Now” and then fill out the form that appears on the screen.
  5. We recommend that you select “Choose a Character” at the end of the form—it will help you distinguish profiles when making plans on the go.
  6. Select “Create.”

You will now be able to see the Guest’s profile in your Family & Friends list. Select “Manage” by their name in order to make changes.

It is important to only create one profile for each person in your party. Creating multiple profiles for an individual may result in issues accessing travel plans and Lightning Lane entrances.

Please note that if the Guest’s name appears on your screen while you are trying to create a profile, it is possible that someone else already created a profile for them. You should connect with that profile if it already exists.

Editing a Profile for a Child
If you have created a profile for a child, you are the only person who can edit the profile, set permissions and approve connections for that child. If you would like to invite someone else to make plans for the child, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the child’s Family & Friends list.
  2. Scroll down to find “Let Your Connections Plan for [CHILD’S NAME].” You will see a list of all your connections.
  3. Choose the person you would like to grant access to and select “Send Invite.”

Editing a Profile for an Adult
Any Guest 13 years of age and older who does not have a MyDisney account may create an account at any time. If you made plans on behalf of a Guest who later creates a MyDisney account for themselves, be sure to invite them to manage their own plans. This allows the plans you have made to migrate to the new account.

Follow these steps to invite Guest to make plans for themselves:

  • Visit your Family & Friends list and find the Guest under the “Guests You Manage” section. Select “Manage.”
  • On the Guest’s profile, find “Invite [GUEST’S NAME] to Sign In and Plan on Their Own.”
  • Select “Invite.”

You will still be able to make and manage plans for that profile while the invitation to connect is pending, but once they accept, all existing plans will transfer to their account.
