Disney bands & Cards – Frequently Asked Questions
Q:
How do I charge my Disney band?
A:
Your Disney band comes with a rechargeable battery and 6-inch USB charging cable. A charging cable can also be purchased separately in retail locations at Disney Parks and Resorts. In addition, portable phone chargers are available for purchase throughout Walt Disney World Resort.
We recommend charging your Disney band once before your visit and nightly during your stay. Also, make sure you have installed the latest version of the Disney band software for optimal usage.
Disney Band Battery Status
Press the button on the back of the Disney band to check the battery status. The Disney band will light up in different colors to report the current battery status.
A flashing red light—or no flashing light at all—indicates that there is no battery left. You should charge your Disney band at your earliest convenience. When charging, if you don't see the Disney band begin to light up after 20 minutes, reattach the charger and make sure you feel the charger snap into place.
A flashing yellow light indicates a low battery. Continue charging your Disney band until green for the most optimal usage duration throughout your day.
A flashing green light indicates a high battery. You are good to go!
Note: If your Disney band battery is depleted, you will still have access to certain features such as:
- Theme park entry (with valid admission and theme park reservation, if applicable)
- Water park and ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex entry (with valid admission)
- Check-in at virtual queue and Lightning Lane entrances
- Disney Resort hotel room entry
- Charging food and merchandise purchases (to the payment card on file at your Disney Resort hotel room during your stay)
- Disney PhotoPass photographer interactions and certain photo touch points
Certain Disney band functionality and features, such as automatic association of Disney PhotoPass attraction photos to your linked Disney account, software updates, customization settings and use with certain Park and Resort interactive experiences may be affected if the Disney band battery is not adequately charged.
