The Travelex insurance plan available through Disney Destinations, LLC offered on disneyworld.com or by calling Walt Disney World Resort helps provide coverage for you and your family for unexpected covered events from the moment that you step out of your front door until the moment you safely arrive back home. The plan allows you to cancel or interrupt your trip for covered reasons. In the event you have to cancel or interrupt a trip for a covered reason, you are eligible to file claims against the travel insurance plan (underwritten by Stonebridge Casualty Insurance Company which is changing its name to Transamerica Casualty Insurance Company) so you can be reimbursed for things such as the prepaid and non-refundable trip cost associated with the trip—and the cost charged to retain frequent traveler awards or points if used to book air or land accommodations in conjunction with the covered trip.
In addition to Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption coverage, the travel insurance plan will provide post-departure benefits for emergency medical situations, travel delays, baggage delays and 24-hour travel assistance services.
The top reasons for accepting the insurance are Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, Trip Delay and Emergency Medical and Evacuation Expense benefits:
- Trip Cancellation coverage will cover your travel cost or expense by reimbursing the prepaid and non-refundable insured cost if you must cancel a trip for a covered reason.
- Trip Interruption coverage will protect your travel cost or expense by reimbursing for the unused prepaid and non-refundable cost if you must interrupt a trip for a covered reason.
- Trip Delay will provide coverage in the event you are delayed while en route to or from your destination for a covered reason.
- Emergency Medical and Evacuation Expense benefits will ensure you receive medical care when traveling and transport you to the nearest medical facility or home in an emergency for a covered reason.
The travel insurance plan covers the Disney Guests and traveling companions listed on the policy. If insurance is elected, all adults on the reservation will be charged for the travel insurance plan.
Children who are 17 years of age and under at the time of arrival to the Disney destination will be included under the travel insurance plan at no additional cost.
One of the great benefits about the Travelex travel insurance plan is that it will allow you to insure airfare, hotel and car rental charges made in relation to the Disney vacation prior to departure regardless if you arrange those components through the Disney Reservation Center, online or on your own, up to a $20,000 per person trip cost.
Please note that hard ticket events not booked or arranged through Disney are not eligible for coverage.

Travelex travel insurance can be purchased any time prior to final payment of the covered trip.
