Step through a wrought-iron portal into an alluring recreation of the historic New Orleans district known for delicious Cajun food, jazz music and dazzling parades. Stroll cobblestone walkways and gaze down ornate wrought-iron railings as you listen to the smooth jazz backdrop and breathe in the sweet smell of magnolia blossoms in the air.

The theming of Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter is so ornate and intricate—including street signs, sidewalks, brick-laden roads, antique gas lampposts, fountains and decorative chimneys—a trip to your room often feels like you are walking through New Orleans.

The resort's central building, named The Mint, features the Main Lobby, registration desk, food court, lounge, shop and video game arcade. In keeping with the Mardi Gras theme, the food court and the pool are decorated with a variety of parade floats and props. Doubloon Lagoon—the centrally located pool complex—includes a waterslide that resembles a giant sea serpent.

The lushly landscaped mile-long walking path along the Sassagoula River is great for a stroll to unwind after a busy day. Just try not to startle any of the ducks or bunny rabbits that call the area home!
