This page provides an overview of services and facilities available for Guests with disabilities who are visiting Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. It is intended to supplement the Typhoon Lagoon Guidemap, available at the Disney Water Parks, that contains additional information.
Guest Services at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, located at the entrance to the Park, provides a variety of services including general information, ticket media information, Park guidemaps and information on services for Guests with disabilities.
Parking for Guests with disabilities is available adjacent to the Park entrance at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. A valid disability parking permit is required.
Most food and merchandise locations in Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park are accessible to Guests with disabilities. Cast Members are available to assist Guests when necessary. Some counter-service locations have narrow queues formed by railings that may be difficult for Guests using wheelchairs. At these locations, we suggest that a member of the party order and transport the food, or contact a host or hostess for assistance.
The Typhoon Lagoon First Aid Station is located adjacent to Leaning Palms restaurant near the entrance to the Park.
At Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, companion-assisted restroom facilities are located at First Aid as well as at Guest Services, near the entrance to the Park.
For the comfort and safety of all our Guests, smoking at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is permitted in designated areas only. Please refer to Park Guidemaps or signage for designated smoking locations, or ask a Cast Member for assistance.
Most restrooms throughout Disney's Typhoon Lagoon have facilities designed for access by Guests using wheelchairs.
Guests may request cups from the nearest restaurant or refreshment facility to help while using drinking fountains at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.
Trained service animals are welcome in most locations throughout Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. All service animals must remain on a leash or in a harness at all times. Guests should follow the same attraction entrance procedures as described for Guests using wheelchairs. Due to the nature of the attractions at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, as well as health and safety concerns, service animals are not permitted to ride any of the water attractions or to enter any of the water areas. A member of the Guest's party must remain with the animal at all times.
A pad of paper and pens/pencils are readily accessible at each location for Cast Members to communicate with Guests with hearing disabilities at Disney Water Parks. Cast Members with abilities in sign language can be identified by their name tag and language pin.
Telephones with amplified handsets are available throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. Consult the Guidemap for Typhoon Lagoon Water Park for locations.
A Text Typewriter (TTY) is available at Guest Services at the entrance to the Park. Please see a Guest Services Host or Hostess for assistance.
Guests may borrow wheelchairs free of charge from the Guest Services at Guest Services at Typhoon Lagoon Water Park; however, a valid I.D. is required to be left in exchange for the wheelchair and the wheelchair must be returned upon exiting the Park.
Guests with a Prosthesis
Certain restrictions apply to Guests using a prosthesis on some of the water slides at Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. A separate information sheet is available at Guest Services to provide information specific to these needs.
Most attractions require guests to transfer from their wheelchair to the attraction either by themselves or with the assistance of a member of their party. Walt Disney World Resort Cast Members are not permitted to physically lift Guests from their wheelchairs.
Humunga Kowabunga at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park offers 3 fully-enclosed, side-by-side body slides where big kids, teens and adults can whisk down 5 stories in seconds!
Height Requirement: 48'' minimum
Gangplank Falls at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is a 300-foot long family waterslide for big kids, teens and adults on huge rafts that accommodate up to 4 Guests at once. Of the 3 different Falls raft rides, Gang Plank Falls is the medium intensity slide.
Keelhaul Falls at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park sends big kids, teens and adults rushing down the mountain on an inner tube through a waterfall and a cave tunnel. Of the 3 different Falls raft rides, Keelhaul Falls is the mildest.
Mayday Falls at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park sends big kids, teens and adults careening down the mountain on an inner tube ride through rushing rapids. There are 3 different Falls raft rides and Mayday Falls is the wildest of the three!
Crush 'n' Gusher at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park has 3 different roller coaster-like waterslides for big kids, teen and adults who are at least 48 inches tall. Up to 3 Guests can ride at once, or take the plunge yourself!

Shark Reef at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park lets you swim with the sharks! Snorkel with two types of sharks, stingrays and a variety of tropical fish in this saltwater tank adventure geared toward big kids, teens and adults.
Guests under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a Guest 14 years of age or older.
Surf Lessons at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park are available in the hours before the Water Park opens for Guests age 8 and older. For more experienced surfers, private Surf Sessions are also available.
Surf Pool at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park offers water recreation for all ages. This giant pool cycles between 6-foot waves and smaller bobbing waves, giving everyone a chance to enjoy the sparkling blue waters.
Guests travelling in wheelchairs may access the Surf Pool at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park from the pathway and zero-depth entry points.
For the safety and comfort of all our Guests, wheelchairs are only permitted into the Surf Pool up to a depth less than or equal to the axle on the main wheels of the wheelchair.
Castaway Creek at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is a gently winding stream where Guests of all ages can take a relaxing raft ride around the Water Park.
Adult supervision is required.
Bay Slides at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park are water slides specifically designed for young ones. These beginner slides will send toddlers down a gentle slope that ends in a big splash into a secluded corner of the Surf Pool.
Ketchakiddee Creek at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park offers tots their own watery play area. Ten different activity areas with fun water features and kid-sized slides make this a perfect place to play for little ones who are less than 48 inches tall.
