Walt Disney World attractions can accommodate Guests with mobility, visual and hearing disabilities. Please refer to each individual attraction to learn more on how the attraction can provide services needed for Guests to enjoy each attraction based on their special needs.

Guest Services at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park

Guest Services at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park, located at the Park entrance, provides a variety of services including general information, ticket media information, Park Guidemaps and information on services for Guests with disabilities.

Water Park Parking

Parking for Guests with disabilities is available adjacent to the Entrance Complex at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park. A valid disability parking permit is required.

Shops and Restaurants at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park

Most food and merchandise locations in Disney's Blizzard Beach are accessible to Guests with disabilities. Cast Members are available to assist Guests when necessary. Some counter-service locations have narrow queues formed by railings that may be difficult for Guests using wheelchairs. At these locations, we suggest that a member of the party order and transport the food, or contact a host or hostess for assistance.

First Aid

The Blizzard Beach First Aid Station is located between the Beach Haus shop and Lottawatta Lodge restaurant near the front entrance to Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park.

Companion Restrooms

At Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park, companion-assisted restroom facilities are located at the First Aid station behind the Beach Haus shop, as well as behind the locker rental area, near the Shoeless Joe's shop.

Smoking Restrictions

For the comfort and safety of all our Guests, smoking at Disney's Blizzard Beach is permitted in designated areas only. Please refer to park Guidemaps or signage for designated smoking locations, or ask a Cast Member for assistance.

Restrooms

Most restrooms throughout Disney's Blizzard Beach have facilities designed for access by Guests using wheelchairs.

Drinking Fountains

To assist with drinking fountains, Guests may request cups from the nearest restaurant or refreshment facility.

Service Animals

Trained service animals are welcome in most locations throughout Disney's Blizzard Beach. All service animals must remain on a leash or in a harness at all times. Guests should follow the same attraction entrance procedures as described for Guests using wheelchairs. Due to the nature of the attractions at Disney's Blizzard Beach, as well as health and safety concerns, service animals are not permitted to ride any of the water attractions or to enter any of the water areas of Disney's Blizzard Beach. A member of the Guest's party must remain with the animal at all times.

Hearing Disabilities

A pad of paper and pens/pencils are readily accessible at each location for Cast Members to utilize, if necessary, to communicate with Guests. Cast Members with abilities in Sign Language can be identified with the appropriate language pin.

Telephones

Telephones with amplified handsets are available throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. Consult the Blizzard Beach Guidemap for locations. A Text Typewriter (TTY) is available at Guest Services at the Main Entrance. Please see a Guest Services Host or Hostess for assistance.

Mobility Disabilities

Guests may borrow wheelchairs free of charge from the Guest Services at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park; however, a valid I.D. is required to be left in exchange for the wheelchair and the wheelchair must be returned upon exiting the Park.

Guests with a Prosthesis

Certain restrictions apply to Guests using a prosthesis on some of the water slides at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park. A separate information sheet is available at Guest Services to provide information specific to these needs.

Attractions

Most Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park attractions require Guests to transfer from their wheelchair to the attraction either by themselves or with the assistance of a member of their party. Walt Disney World Resort hosts and hostesses are not permitted to physically lift in transferring Guests from their wheelchairs.

Slush Gusher

Slush Gusher at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park is a high-speed waterslide for big kids, teens and adults who are at least 48 inches tall. This 90-foot tall waterslide sends riders up and down as they speed over 2 humps on the way down Mount Gushmore.

Height Requirement: 48'' minimum

Snow Stormers

Snow Stormers at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park are 3 slalom-style racing course waterslides designed for big kids, teens and adults that use toboggan-style mats to slide down.

Summit Plummet

Summit Plummet at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park is a 120-foot high waterslide for big kids, teen and adults who are at least 48 inches tall. This incredible slide has a 12-story drop and speeds riders down the mountain at 50 to 60 MPH.

For safety and comfort, Guests should be in good health and free from back or neck problems. Expectant mothers should not ride.

Height Requirement: 48" minimum

Summit Plummet is not accessible by wheelchair; the queue for this attraction includes a flight of stairs.

Toboggan Racers

Toboggan Racers at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park pits up to 8 riders in a waterslide race. Big kids, teens and adults can race each other on toboggan-style mats to see who can make it to the bottom of Mount Gushmore first.

Downhill Double Dipper

Downhill Double Dipper at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park is a waterslide race on inner tubes for big kids, teen and adults who are at least 48 inches tall. Two parallel flumes pit two racers against each other in a race to the bottom of Mount Gushmore.

For safety and comfort, Guests should be in good health and free from back or neck problems. Expectant mothers should not ride.

Height Requirement: 48"

Downhill Double Dipper is not accessible by wheelchair; the queue for this attraction includes a flight of stairs.

Runoff Rapids

Runoff Rapids at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park sends big kids, teens and adults twisting down the banks of Mount Gushmore for a refreshing plunge at the bottom. There are 3 unique waterslides to choose from.

Teamboat Springs

Teamboat Springs at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park is a family raft ride down a winding river. Big kids, teens and adults can all ride together in a large raft that holds 4 to 6 people.

Cross Country Creek

Cross Country Creek at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park is a slow, flowing stream where big kids, teens and adults can take a leisurely raft ride around the Water Park.

Adult supervision required.

Guests travelling in wheelchairs may access Cross Country Creek from the following creek entrances, which have additional transfer steps to assist in transferring from a wheelchair or Electric Convenience Vehicles (ECV) into a tube:

  • Manatee Landing (located next to Warming Hut snack bar)
  • Ice Gator Landing (located across from Avalunch snack bar)
  • Polar Bear Landing (between the two main bridges)

Melt-Away Bay

Melt-Away Bay at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park is a one-acre wave pool for big kids, teens and adults with numerous waterfalls andfor those who want to relaxa large beach area with beach chairs.

For the safety and comfort of all our Guests, wheelchairs are only permitted into the wave pool up to a depth less than or equal to the axle on the main wheels of the wheelchair.

Guests traveling in wheelchairs may access Melt Away Bay (the wave pool) from the pathway and zero-depth entry points located across from the Warming Hut snack bar and from the ramp from the Boardwalk near the coffee/iced cappuccino wagon.

Guests utilizing Electric Convenience Vehicles (ECV) or Electric Wheelchairs must transfer to a standard wheelchair to enter Melt Away Bay.

Ski Patrol Training Camp

Ski Patrol Training Camp at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park has a variety of fun, water activities designed for big kids and preteens who are too old for the little ones area but not quite ready for the bigger waterslides.

Tike's Peak

Tike's Peak at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park offers tots their own watery play area. A snow-castle fountain, pop-up water jets and kid-sized slides make this shallow water area a perfect place to play for little ones who are less than 48 inches tall.

Height Requirement: 48" maximum

Guests travelling in wheelchairs may access the Tike's Peak Wading Pool via the zero-depth entry points throughout the area.

Chair Lift

Chairlift at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park is a ski resort type transport that takes Guests who are 32 inches or taller to the top of Mount Gushmore for access to the attractions at the Green Slope area of the mountain.

For safety and comfort, Guests should be in good health and free from back or neck problems. Expectant mothers should not ride.

Guests travelling in wheelchairs may access Mt.Gushmore via the Chairlift, which is equipped with a Gondola vehicle to transport the Guest and their companion to the top of the mountain. The Guest using the wheelchair and one companion should use the entrance located to the right of the main queue; the rest of the party should enter through the standard queue.

Guests utilizing Electric Convenience Vehicles or Electric Wheelchairs will need to transfer to a standard wheelchair provided on request by the host or hostess at the chairlift entrance.

Guests are responsible for making arrangements to return the wheelchair down the Chairlift, and to have the wheelchair awaiting the Guest at the end of the appropriate attraction.

No infants or lap-riding allowed.

The Gondola has a weight limit of 375 lbs.
