When can I use my theme park ticket?

A.

It depends on when you purchased your tickets. On October 16, 2018, Walt Disney World Resort introduced date-based tickets and pricing.

Tickets Purchased After October 15, 2018

Walt Disney World Resort theme park tickets purchased after October 15, 2018 are valid for admission beginning on the selected start date and must be used within the valid use period provided at the time of purchase. Here are the details:

  • 1-day – The ticket expires on the selected start date.
  • 2-day – The ticket expires 4 days after the selected start date.
  • 3-day – The ticket expires 5 days after the selected start date.
  • 4-day – The ticket expires 7 days after the selected start date.
  • 5-day – The ticket expires 8 days after the selected start date.
  • 6-day – The ticket expires 9 days after the selected start date.
  • 7-day – The ticket expires 10 days after the selected start date.
  • 8-day – The ticket expires 12 days after the selected start date.
  • 9-day – The ticket expires 13 days after the selected start date.
  • 10-day – The ticket expires 14 days after the selected start date.

For example, a 6-day base ticket with a start date of November 1 is valid any 6 days from November 1 to November 9.

Selection of the Park Hopper Option for same-day admission to more than one theme park is subject to the validity windows listed above.

Selection of the Park Hopper Plus Option to include visits to Disney water parks and other attractions—along with same-day admission to more than one theme park— adds another day to your valid use period. For example, a 6-day Park Hopper Plus Option ticket with a start date of November 1 is valid any 6 days from November 1 to November 10.

Disney Theme Park Tickets Purchased as Part of a Walt Disney Travel Company Package

Tickets purchased as part of a Walt Disney Travel Company room and ticket package are valid for admission beginning on the date of check-in and must be used by the date of check-out, or in accordance with the validity windows listed above—whichever period is longer.

Tickets Purchased Before October 16, 2018

If you purchased tickets before October 16, 2018, your theme park tickets may be used on different dates depending on the type of ticket.

1-Day Peak Tickets purchased before October 16, 2018 are valid any day until their expiration date.

1-Day Regular Tickets purchased before October 16, 2018 are valid any day until their expiration date, except for the following blockout dates:

  • October 6, 2018
  • October 13, 2018
  • October 20, 2018
  • October 27, 2018
  • November 3, 2018
  • November 10, 2018
  • November 17 to November 24, 2018
  • December 1, 2018
  • December 8, 2018
  • December 15, 2018

Multi-Day Tickets Purchased Before October 16, 2018

Multi-day tickets have different entitlements and validity dates. Please check the details of a particular multi-day ticket at time of purchase.

Upgrading Tickets Purchased Before October 16, 2018

Have your plans changed and you now wish to visit a theme park on a day that your 1-day ticket is not valid? No problem! You can upgrade your ticket at any Walt Disney World theme park ticket window, Guest Relations or Lobby Concierge location.

If you prefer to update over the phone, please call the Disney Reservation Center at (407) 939-3476 or (407) WDW-DISNEY. Guests under 18 years of age must have parent or guardian permission to call.

Additional Information on Tickets Purchased Before October 16, 2018

The amount paid for an unused, expired ticket may be applied towards the purchase of a new ticket at the current price so long as the new ticket purchase price is equal to or greater than the amount paid for the original ticket.

Validity dates will continue to be published from time to time. The dates assigned to each season and the number of days in each season may change from year to year.

Unless otherwise stated, tickets are not valid for separately priced activities or events. No credit or refund will be given if a higher season ticket is used on a lower season date. Admission is subject to capacity closures and to other restrictions.
