Fun Facts

Disney's Coronado Springs Resort was named for Francisco Vasquez de Coronado, a 16th-century Spanish explorer. In 1540, he set sail for the New World in search of the Seven Cities of Cibola and their fabled riches of gold. He never found the legendary riches, but members of his group became the first Europeans to reach the Grand Canyon.

Play a variety of video and pinball games at the Iguana Arcade next to the pool at the Dig Site.

Beach

While swimming is prohibited in Lago Dorado, there is plenty of warm beach to lounge on and soak up the sun—or enjoy a lazy siesta in a hammock under a palm tree.

Bike Rentals

Rent a bike or surrey for a leisurely ride along the Esplanade

Jogging Trail

Take a scenic 0.9-mile run, walk or stroll at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort on the trail that loops around Lago Dorado.

La Vida Health Club

Located in the Casitas area, next door to the Casa de Belleza salon, the La Vida Health Club offers state-of-the-art Life Fitness and Hammer Strength equipment, locker rooms, and sauna. Open 24 hours a day with an attendant present from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Guests wanting 24-hour access to the club must meet with an attendant to sign a waiver and obtain a 24-hour access key. Resort Guests must be 14 years of age or older to use the facilities, and Guests 14 to 17 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

A variety of spa services, including massage, facials and nail treatments, are available by appointment.

Playground

Climb, slide and play to your heart's content on a archeologically-themed playground located at the Dig Site.

Pools

Hotel Guests can cool off in the 3 heated pools located in the Casitas, Ranchos and Cabanas areas, or enjoy a swim at the archeological-themed Dig Site - complete with the Jaguar Pool Slide at The Lost City of Cibola Pool.

Visit Panchito's Gifts and Sundries—adjacent to the Main Lobby in the El Centro building—to browse Southwestern merchandise, Disney products and vacation necessities.
