Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort
Recreation
Recreation at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort includes a pool and beach, and at nearby Disney's Contemporary Resort there are shops, watercraft rentals, and a massage and fitness center.
Arcade
Disney's Contemporary Resort includes a high-tech game room that features both classic arcade games and the latest in video game entertainment. Located on the fourth floor of the Contemporary Tower and open 24 hours. There is also a smaller arcade near the pool.
Barbeque Pavilion
Near the beach area of Bay Lake Tower, find 4 charcoal barbeque grills and 2 covered picnic tables.
Beach
Soak up the sun on a white-sand beach conveniently located next to the pools, overlooking Bay Lake.
Community Hall
Community Hall is located near the lobby entrance of Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. At Community Hall, you can play ping-pong, foosball, video games, watch TV or participate in rainy day activities. You can also pick up equipment for basketball, bocce ball, tennis and shuffleboard. DVDs are available to rent (at no charge for Disney Vacation Club Members) at Community Hall. Check the chalkboard in the children's area, located in the main lobby of Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, for games and crafts offered by the recreation team.
Electrical Water Pageant
Each night (weather permitting) at 10:10 pm, the Electrical Water Pageant floats through the waters of Bay Lake and can be viewed from Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. The Pageant consists of 2 strings of 7 barges, each carrying a 25-foot-tall screen of lights featuring King Neptune and creatures from under the sea in an aquatic parade set to Disney music.
Fishing
Disney's Contemporary Resort provides Bass Fishing Excursions and Children's Fishing Excursions at the marina. Excursions last approximately 2 hours and take place along Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon. Fishing guides and equipment are provided. Golf
Located approximately 6 miles from the Disney's Contemporary Resort is the 36-hole Fantasia Gardens miniature golf course. Guest Services can also secure reservations on one of the 5 award-winning golf courses located throughout Walt Disney World Resort .
Jogging Trail
Take off on a scenic 1.1-mile run around Disney's Contemporary Resort, passing picturesque Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon.
Olympiad Fitness Center
Olympiad Fitness Center is located on the third floor of the Contemporary Tower. This spa and salon offers massage therapy, skin care and body treatments and features steam rooms for men and women, saunas and the latest in fitness equipment including free weights, treadmills, ellipticals, bicycles and stair climbers. Lockers are available.
Staffed from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. the facility is accessible 24 hours a day and is available to Guests of Disney's Contemporary Resort 14 years of age and older. Guests 14-17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Guests wanting 24-hour access to the club must meet with an attendant to sign a waiver and obtain a 24-hour access key.
Spa services include a surcharge—starting at $50—and are by appointment during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. A personal trainer is also available by appointment.
Pools
Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort boasts its own beautiful Bay Cove Pool, a zero-entry pool, exclusively for Guests of Bay Lake Tower. The main feature of Bay Cove Pool is a 20-foot high and 148-foot long water slide. There is also a separate ADA approved accessible slide. Near the pool is a children's interactive water play area, whirlpool spa, lockers, changing area and the Cove Bar. Disney-trained lifeguards are on duty during slide operating hours.
Guests of Bay Lake Tower also have access to Bay Lake Pool, a round, quiet pool which is shallow on the outside and deeper in the center, and to the larger pool at Disney's Contemporary Resort, which includes a 17-foot high curving slide.
Shopping
Located in the Grand Canyon Concourse, Disney's Contemporary Resort features 4 stores for your shopping pleasure.
- Bayview Gifts offers unique Disney-branded souvenirs, chocolates, gifts for the home, collectibles, watches, jewelry, framed art and both men's and women's fashions.
- Fantasia boasts Disney-branded clothing and merchandise.
- Concourse Sundries & Spirits stocks newspapers, magazines, snacks, spirits, and health and beauty items.
- Caricature Connection is a kiosk located on the fourth floor of the Contemporary Tower where artists create delightful, souvenir caricatures—usually within 5 minutes—for an additional fee.
Shuffleboard and Bocce Ball Courts
There are 2 shuffleboard and 2 bocce ball courts. There is no charge for use of equipment, which can be picked up at Community Hall.
Volleyball
A volleyball court is located on the beach outside Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Hotel Guests may check out complimentary volleyballs on a first-come, first-served basis.
Watercraft Rentals
Spend some time on the lake with a Pontoon Boat, Boston Whaler Montauk or Sea Raycer by Sea Ray; or take a specialty cruise. (Extra fee required.) Call 407-WDW-PLAY (939-0729) for additional information.
Water Sports
Parasailing, waterskiing and watercraft rentals are available at Sammy Duvall's Water Sports Centre located in the marina along Bay Lake. Rent an inner tube, personal watercraft, sailboat, pontoon boat or canopy boat, or take off on a thrilling parasailing or waterskiing adventure. (Extra fee required.)
