Take a trip through time on Primeval Whirl, a roller coaster in the DinoLand U.S.A. area of Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park!
Refurbished and reopened in 2011, this ride invites big kids, teens and adults to go for a whirl in a spinning "time machine" car for dinosaur-themed excitement and thrills. In addition to sudden dips, hairpin turns and tight curves, this coaster spins each car on its own round-and-round path. You never know which way your car will twirl as you race around, making this ride a new experience each time.
Primeval Whirl is part of the zany antics of Chester and Hester's Dino-Rama, a special area within DinoLand U.S.A. that's filled with family-friendly games and attractions.
Guest Policies
- For safety, you should be in good health and free from high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, motion sickness or other conditions that could be aggravated by this adventure.
- Guests with young children may take turns experiencing attractions. See a Cast Member for additional information.
- Disney's FASTPASS service, a reservation system that reduces time spent in line, is available for this attraction.
- Expectant mothers should not ride.
- Due to the nature of the experience, service animals are not permitted on this attraction.
- Guests must transfer from their wheelchair, motorized scooter or ECV to board the ride vehicle.
Supervise children at all times. Children under age 7 years must be accompanied by a person age 14 years or older.

- Avoid crowds and long lines, board some of the more popular attractions faster and experience more time in select Disney Theme Parks during special extended Park hours, called Extra Magic Hours. Each day, one of the Theme Parks opens an hour early or stays open up to 3 hours after regular Park closing, as one of the many benefits to Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel.
- To reduce the time spent in line at new attractions, arrive at Disney′s Animal Kingdom theme park early and get a Disney′s FASTPASS reservation ticket.
- Some attractions offer a Rider Swap option. Rider Swap is when Guests take turns waiting with youngsters too small to ride a certain attraction then "swapping" with another Guest from their party to experience the ride without standing in line twice. See a Cast Member for additional information.
- Single and double-passenger strollers are available to rent at Disney Theme Parks. Quantities are limited and subject to availability. The Length of Stay Rental Ticket Option allows for multiple-day rentals. Baby Care Centers, where you can change and feed your baby, are located within each Theme Park.
